IFA Highlights 2017
Wie jedes Jahr präsentierten die fast 2000 Aussteller der IFA 2019, der führenden Fachmesse für Unterhaltungselektronik und Haushaltsgeräte in Berlin verschiedene Innovationen, Trends und Produkte. In diesem Jahr konnte ein deutlicher Trend zum vernetzten Zuhause mit Künstlicher Intelligenz und Spracherkennung erkannt werden. Auch das neue 5G-Netz spielte eine wichtige Rolle. Neben diesen großen Themen waren Smart Devices, Wearables, Gadgets, die neu erschienenen E-Scooter sowie Spiele nicht zu übersehen.

Smart Home, Appliances & Connectivity: Especially in the field of smart home technology a lot has happened. A new era of homeconnectivity,enabled through new generation networks like 5G and Wi-Fi 6,has been introduced. Smart Home solutions have gained maturity and are increasingly integrated in wholistic ecosystems. Voice assistance are not only present in smart speakers controlling single smart devices but have taken over TVs and even home appliances like ovens and fridges. In addition, it should be noted that not only functionality but also design plays an enormous role, as the trend is largely towards minimalism.
Voice Assistance & AI: It's no secret that Google or Amazon with its Alexa speaker largely dominate the voice assistent market. However, a new achievement in this industry this year is Telekom's new Smart Speaker, called "Magenta". Magenta is the first speaker to integrate two voice assistants. It can control all Telekom service functions and additionally supports basic skills. But it becomes clear that more and more attention is being paid to the privacy and data protection of the customer, especially in the area of voice assistants.
Mobile Devices & Smart Gadgets: As the trend has shown in recent years, smartwatches and lifestyle gadgets like e-scooters are gaining in value. The increasing numbers of wearable gadgets are making it clear to buyers that they are playing an increasingly important role in everyday life, especially with integrated fitness trackers, the topic of lifestyle and wellbeing is being taken up anew. The new standard also includes wireless headphones, increasingly powerful laptops and smartphones that are 5G compatible.
Virtual Reality, Smart TVs & Monitors: VR and AR become more refined. Both technologies benefit from improved hardware and new features that allow for an overall better experience. Regarding TVs flexible OLED screens, 8K and MicroLED panels make their way to commercial products. The trend here is also towards minimalism. The classic TV screen no longer has its original meaning, but rather becomes a lifestyle product, which is stylishly integrated into everyday life through enormous performance and graceful design.
Gaming: The gaming industry is attracting a lot of attention this year. Not only the hardware with integrated high-performance processors, for example in gaming laptops or mobile phones, are relevant. Equally new devices, with integrated cloud gaming service, or even futuristic equipment gain high importance. The cloud provides an even more versatile gaming experience.
